Github Desktop
- On the top left of Github Desktop, change your current repository to devuilewok.be.
- Right click on Current repository devuilewok.be and select Open in Visual Studio Code.
Visual Studio Code
- Navigate to your folder.
- Only change files in your folder!
- In index.md of your folder you will be able to make changes to your personal page.
- Open files in Jitse’s folder to learn some markdown syntax. Do not change his folder, only look!
- You can create a new markdown files or folders in your personal folder.
Github Desktop: ‘Uploading’ your changes to your webpage
Updating/synchronizing your local repository: Fetch and pull.
- Save all the files you changed in Visual Studio Code.
- Go to Github Desktop.
- On the top, press Fetch origin to check if there were changes made to the online repository by other people. Sometimes it fetches automaticly. If so skip this step.
- On the top, press Pull origin to update your local files to the online version.
Commit and push your changes
- On the bottom left, type a little description for the changes to your files.
- Press Commit to main.
- On the top, press Push origin. This will make changes to the online repository.
- The webpage will be updated in a minute or so.
